Remembering Marian

Marian Marie Lee passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025 at the age of 95.

She was born in Willmar Minnesota on July 1,1929 to Bertram Trelstad and Olive Irene (Femrite) Trelstad.

When Marian was 2 years old her mother passed away, and she was raised by her father and grandmother. She was proud of her Norwegian heritage and spoke Norwegian at home with her grandmother.

When she was 16 her father remarried, and the family grew with the addition of her step-mother Thora (nee Kleven) Trelstad and sister Janice (Curtis) Steen.

Marian was a member of the Dawson High School class of 1946 and stayed in touch with many of her friends for over 70 years.

In 1949 she married Wendell Eugene Lee (deceased).

Marian was mother to 5 children. Daughters Cindy Park (Steve), Mary Brogdon (Mike), Nancy Blood (Pat), and Carol Parsons (Dave), and a son, Jeff (Angie) who died in 2011. She was the proud grandmother of 7, and great grandmother to 8.

She worked several clerical jobs when her children were older and retired from Admissions at the VA Hospital at Fort Snelling in 1996 after 22 years of service.

A trip to Norway was a highlight for her after she retired. She also enjoyed travels to Jordon and Jamaica with her daughter, Mary.

Marian was an excellent seamstress and made dozens of creative quilts that she gifted to family and friends. She loved her family, her cats, ice cream, and browsing thrift stores and garage sales.

She enjoyed her townhome in Eagan, MN, and lived there for 23 years. A year ago her daughters persuaded her that a senior facility would be better suited to her increasing needs.

Marian will be missed by her sister, children and grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, but our love and memories will keep her in our hearts.
