Loving Mother, Grandmother, Daughter & Friend

Maria Windt, 62 of Cannon Falls, MN, passed away suddenly on December 25, 2024. She is survived by daughter, Bobbi Padilla; beloved grandchildren, Tyler Klar, Tanner Klar (Ashley) Alexander Padilla and Elena Padilla; sisters, Michelle Kendall, Heather Dauffenbach (Paul) and Dana Klimek; brothers, David Klimek and Matthew Lyons; stepfather, George Lyons; stepmother, Angie Klimek and sister-in-law Julie Klimek.

Maria is proceeded in death by her father, Gus Klimek; mother, Joan Lyons; brothers, Mike Klimek and Keith Lyons (in infancy) and stepmother, Denise Klimek.

Anyone who knew Maria would know that a traditional funeral wasn’t her taste. In lieu of a funeral, a Celebration of Life will be held on February 1st, 2025, at the Independence Community Room (attached to the State Bank) in Independence, WI from 12 PM - 4 PM. A lunch will be served at 12:30 PM.

Maria would not want anyone to cry or feel sad in her memory, but instead, she would want us to enjoy the afternoon, sharing fond memories and stories. Please bring a few to share with everyone.

Maria’s greatest joy in life was her four grandchildren. She had a deep love for the mountains, rocks, open spaces, flowers, and, above all, sunsets.

In keeping with her wishes, Maria will be cremated and her ashes spread on Pikes Peak in Manitou Springs, CO, during the summer of 2025.
