life story
Lori Was Loving & Giving. She Fought Hard For Her Life.
Fight Song carried Lori through many difficult days of dialysis and illness.
This is my fight song
Take back my life song
Prove I'm alright song
My power's turned on
Starting right now I'll be strong
I'll play my fight song
And I don't really care if nobody else believes
'Cause I've still got a lot of fight left in me
A lot of fight left in me...

A wonderful quote sent from our cousin in Sweden:
“ Själen säger aldrig farväl! “
" I say the soul never says good bye !"
The Memories Lori Gave Us Will Always Be in Our Hearts
Passed away peacefully on July 16, 2021 of diabetes and renal failure. Lori was born January 19, 1968 and was one of the first babies born at the newly opened Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove Village, IL. She grew up in Mt. Prospect, IL and Lake Geneva, WI. As an adult, Lori lived in Lake Geneva, WI; Milwaukee, WI; Ellsworth, WI; and River Falls, WI. In February 2021, Lori moved to Woodbury, MN to be near her family. Lori was a loving and giving Daughter, Sister, relative, and Friend. We are so grateful Lori was near us in Minnesota as she was wonderfully cared for in her final days by United Hospital and Our Lady of Peace Hospice in St. Paul, MN.
Lori was a graduate of Faith Christian High School in Williams Bay, WI. She went to college and worked in the fields of graphic design and nursing as an LPN. She had one final year to complete for her RN when her own health sidelined Lori.
Lori's final years were spent managing her own illnesses. Lori loved her Davita family - both at the Capitol and in Woodbury. One of Lori's final words were she wanted to go back to Davita and say goodbye to everyone. Lori knew that would not happen and it was important for her to get this message to her Davita doctors, nurses & staff: Lori very much appreciated them and their part in extending her life ~ they truly are wonderful people.
What made Lori's life worthwhile during her time of dialyzing and managing her illness were her pets and a managerie of animals on the Ellsworth farm. Lori's dogs and cats each had their own unique character. In Lori's 20's she hand raised baby bunnies a neighbor found in their yard after they noticed the mother had died. This lead to her raising other baby bunnies to save them from being euthanized. In Ellsworth, Lori raised chickens for eggs that came to you when you called their name. Lori's goats were adopted and were blind and oh, the funny stories our family has about them! The smallest was a fainting goat.
Lori was proceeded in death by our brother, David Schneider. Great-grandmother, Olga Larson. Grandparents, Elsie & Helge Larson and Florence & Jacob Schneider. Uncle Don Schneider and Aunt Fran Larson.
Lori is greatly missed by her parents, Alan and Judy (Larson) Schneider, sister and brother-in-law, Kathi (Schneider) and Chris Faust, many relatives and friends from California, Florida, the Chicago area, the Greater Metro Twin Cities, and Lake Geneva, WI.
