life story

"Where the Light Meets the Sea”

Where the Light Meets the Sea”

She carried so much in her lifetime —

more than most ever knew.

Yet she still dreamed of gentler days,

still reached for sunlight,

still gave love to everyone she could.

Her heart was an ocean of its own —

deep, steady,

full of longing and hope.

Even in the hardest storms,

she kept looking toward the horizon,

believing there was beauty waiting.

Now she rests where the light meets the sea,

where suffering falls away

like waves smoothing the sand.

The warmth she chased all her life

surrounds her completely —

soft, endless, and serene.

And when the sun touches your face,

or the tide pulls quietly at your feet,

know this:

she is free now,

carried by calm waters,

held in love as wide and boundless

as the ocean she adored.

Her story does not end here.

It lingers in the laughter she sparked,

in the memories she made,

in the way she loved without holding back.

Her presence lives on —

not in one place,

but in every heart she ever touched.

Lora Lee Steiner was a force — strong, loving, independent, and full of dreams. She faced every challenge with courage and determination, fighting to the very end and leaving this world on her own terms. After a courageous battle with cancer, she passed away on November 9, 2025.

She worked hard for everything she had and poured her heart into her family. Lora was a proud mom to Shawn, Natasha (Andy), and Nicole (Charlie) Schreifels, and the most adoring grandma to her grandson, Bryce — who she loved to brag about every chance she got.

She found her peace near the ocean and especially loved the beaches of Rhode Island, where she vacationed often and made lifelong friends she treasured deeply. She also loved football Sunday's, her loyal dog Chica, and the simple joys of laughter, family, and friendship.

Lora was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Gosnell and Helen Dahn; her loving husband, Bruce Steiner; and her sisters, ShirleyAnn and Patty Gosnell.

She will be remembered for her strength, her stubborn grace, her humor, and the deep love she gave so freely.

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on November 23, 2025, from 4–8 p.m. at Brunson’s Pub on Payne Avenue in St. Paul, Minnesota.
