life story

Lois M. "Marge" Haider, age 99, of Champlin, MN, passed away Friday, June 7, 2024.

Preceded in death by husband, Al, and son, Mark, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Loved and missed by her daughter, Donna Haider, daughter-in-law, Linda Haider, sister, Mary Billstrom, along with all of those she adopted as her own, including Ann and Dan Nelson.

Marge was known for being a loving mother, having the same loving and giving spirit to everyone in her life, and a wonderful cook coupled with her unending hospitality. Above all, she was always smiling. She enjoyed jig-saw puzzles, playing Hand and Foot canasta, and trips to the casino. Marge loved traveling the world, going out to eat, playing a few pull tabs and "getting into trouble" also known as shopping for clothes.

Marge also loved her family and friends. She made many friends living at Amira Choice Champlin (aka Champlin Shores) for more than 18 years. She greatly loved being a mom to Mark and Donna, supporting them in their endeavors. She was "Mom" and "Grandma Marge" to many others. A biological connection was not required!

Her love of travel began with a trip to Switzerland and then continued with travels around the United States to see new places or visit family and friends. Her most exciting trip was to New Zealand and Australia with her daughter.

She was always a hard worker at home and when working outside of the home . She also worked very hard when recovering from a severe stroke in 2016. Her therapists always told her she was their best patient.

Marge enjoyed nature. Marge and Al spent many summer weekends and vacations in northern Minnesota fishing. Time spent up at their lake home on Mille Lacs involved planting flowers, caring for the yard, watching the birds and feeding "her duckies." She loved watching the birds at the bird feeder on her apartment window.

Marge liked going to church with Donna when she was able. Marge lived a long, full life and she lived it to the fullest.
