Linda Renee Barbour, 71, of rural Northome, MN died on March 23, 2022 at the Sanford Fargo Medical Center, West Campus.

Linda was born on September 25, 1950 in Bemidji, MN, the daughter of Clifford and Irene (Hensel) Smodell. She attended school in Barrett, MN. She graduated from Northwest Technical College with a degree as a registered nurse.

She worked for many years as an RN at the North Country Regional Hospital (now Sanford) in Bemidji. She married Dennis Barbour in November of 2000 in Bemidji, MN.

They made their home in rural Northome, where she could raise her dogs and horses which she enjoyed so much. She always put others before herself and loved her family. Her great nieces and nephews lit up her life.

Linda enjoyed golfing and bowling (in her early years), fishing, camping, singing, hunting and gardening. She could often be heard singing as she went through the day.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Barbour of Northome, MN; daughter, Michelle Dickey of Bemidji, MN; sister, Stephanie Busch of the Twin Cities, MN; and 2 nieces & their children.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Irene Smodell; and 3 sisters, JoAnn Mohammadi, Deborah Muller and Barbara Bucher.
