Linda Jean O’Neal (Lindsay)

November 27, 1936 – May 24, 2026

Linda Jean O’Neal (Lindsay), age 89, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, in Houston.

Born on November 27, 1936, in Pittsburgh, Linda was the only child of Ralph and Mabel Lindsay. She graduated from Oliver High School and worked in downtown Pittsburgh, where she met Blair E. O’Neal Jr., whom she would marry. Together, in the 1950s, they built their family home in Irwin, where they raised their children and became part of a close-knit neighborhood community.

Before starting her family, Linda took courses in dressmaking and typing in Hempfield, Pennsylvania. She devoted much of her life to being a stay-at-home mother to her sons, Kenneth and Leonard, while also working various jobs over the years, including at Dunkin’ Donuts, as a caregiver for the elderly, and raising Lhasa Apsos.

Linda remained active in her neighborhood community for many years before moving to Houston in 2022, where she and her beloved dog, Daisy, were warmly welcomed into an independent living community.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Blair E. O’Neal Jr.

Linda is survived by her son Kenneth O’Neal and his wife Kim; her son Leonard O’Neal and his wife Shannon. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Lydia (Leonard), Anna, Christopher and his wife Yae, Adam and his wife Hannah and their daughter, Eloise (Kenneth).

Linda had a lifelong love of gardening and was a devoted animal advocate. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to your local Humane Society.

A celebration of Linda’s life and interment in Irwin are planned for early July.
