Linda Diane Lindsley

Linda Diane (Johnson) Lindsley, 73, of Park Rapids, MN died on February 20, 2022 at Greenwood Connections in Menahga, Minnesota.

Linda was born November 13, 1948 in Slayton, MN, the daughter of Simon and Sophie (Huge) Johnson. She was raised, and attended church in Hadley, MN. Linda attended school and graduated from Chandler, MN.

Linda grew up helping on the family farm. She met Robert Lindsley and they were united in marriage on November 19, 1966. They have shared a wonderful life together for 56 years. To begin their marriage together they moved to Bob's family farm near Garvin, MN. They had two daughters, Theresa and Tonja. They lived on the farm for many years, then moved to their home on Lake Sarah near the farm.

Six years ago they moved to Park Rapids to be closer to their daughters and grandchildren. Linda was a farm wife and stay at home mom. When the girls were older she worked at the hospital in Marshall, MN, was a CNA at the Tracy Nursing home, was a teacher's assistant at Tracy Elementary school and rode along for several years with Bob when he did over the road trucking.

Linda loved to spend time with her family, baking for her friends and family and playing cards. She enjoyed her many Bible study groups throughout the years, as her faith was very important to her. Card games were a necessity and she enjoyed all the comradery and competition. It always brought out a whole different side of her and was always a highlight to play with family and friends. She also enjoyed hiking, biking and spending time at the lake.

Linda is survived by her husband; daughters Theresa (Keith) Canfield of Park Rapids, MN and Tonja Petersen of Menahga, MN; grandchildren Nicole (Sopan) Seth of Prior Lake, MN, Scottie (Jaqualine) Petersen of Menahga, MN, Nicholas Canfield of Moorhead, MN, Brandon Canfield of Park Rapids, MN; great granddaughter Svea Seth; siblings Calvin (Gail) Johnson of Slayton, MN, Sandy (Les) DeGroot of Chandler, MN, Ernie (Deb) Johnson of Slayton, MN, Myron (Bev) Johnson of Slayton, MN, Edwin Johnson of Murietta, CA, Richard Johnson of Slayton, MN, Julie Ebbers of Pipestone, MN, and Tammy (Florencio) Torres-Reyes of Hastings, MN; In laws Donna Johnson of Slayton, MN, Barb (Jim) Alexander of Minneapolis, MN, June Lindsley of Marshall, MN, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Mary Byrne and Margaret Krupa, Pamela Johnson, Brother, Keith Johnson, brother in laws Larry Byrne, Ron Krupa and Warren Lindsley.
