In Memory of Li Li

Li Li Chan peacefully passed away on March 1, 2024 surrounded by loving family in Hopkins, MN.

She was born on July 30, 1956 in Hong Kong to Kai Kwong Chan and Sau Sheung Ma. She grew up in a large and loving family of four sisters and two brothers. She gave birth to a daughter in 1987 and raised her as a single mom. Li Li immigrated to the United States in 1990 with her daughter. She was brave moving without knowing much English and worked very hard, even two jobs for years, to ensure a better life for her family. She accepted a position in the cafeteria of Methodist Hospital and worked for over 20 years before her retirement.

Li Li was a very kind and loving person. She had many friends she's known for decades and they all consider her their best friend. She was always supportive and proud of her daughter, son in law, nieces and nephews accomplishments.

Li Li always loved animals and traveling. She always had pet dogs and accepted various gerbils and hamsters her daughter would want. She has traveled all over the world including China, Thailand, Korea, Mexico, Macau, and beyond.

Li Li is survived by her father, Kai Chan; her daughter, Heidi Allen; her son in law, Gordon Allen; her four sisters, Lily Chan, Ka Lee Chan, Mei Lan Chan, Mei Po Chan; two brothers, Ming Chan, Man Chan; four nieces and nine nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Sau Sheung Ma. She will be greatly missed but her love will be in our hearts forever.
