LeVern "Lee" Ketcher

June 8, 1936 – November 11, 2025

Plymouth, MN, USA

Lee passed away peacefully at home with family under the supportive care from Beyond Hospice. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Viola Ketcher and his wife, Phyllis (Nielsen).

He will be deeply missed by his son, Randy Ketcher (Susan); his daughter, Wendy Palaia (Nick); his grandchildren, Cedar and Lauren; nieces, nephews, as well as, many dear friends.

Lee grew up in Mound, Minnesota, where he lettered in wrestling at Mound High School and was proudly voted “Best Dancer.” He served his country in the National Guard for six years. After his service, Lee attended Vo Tech School to become a bricklayer and went on to be a proud member of the Local 1 Bricklayers Union for more than 60 years.

It was in Mound that he also met the love of his life, Phyllis, with whom he shared 64 wonderful years.

After an early retirement, Lee and Phyllis spent their time traveling, golfing, and enjoying countless card games and gatherings with family and friends. Cancun, Mexico held a special place in his heart—he treasured the 30 years of trips to their timeshare, always surrounded by loved ones.

Lee also cherished the years he spent hunting and fishing—first with his son and later with his grandson. His “weedless” garden was legendary, producing an abundance of impressively large and delicious vegetables. He loved canning and pickling his harvest and found joy in sharing the results with others. His pride in yardwork showed in his perfectly manicured lawn, bushes, and trees.

Known for his sense of humor, Lee loved to tease and had a special nickname for everyone he cared about. He was a devoted family man who took great pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren.

True to form, he was still cheering for his fantasy football team just two days before he passed—Go “Concrete”!

Although the time came for the Lord to call Lee home, we celebrate the incredible life he lived and the love he shared.

We miss you deeply—Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, and Friend. ❤️
