About Curt

Leroy Curtis Thompson Age 73, was born in 1948 in Camden, New Jersey. Leroy, lovingly called Curt, went home to be with the Lord at United Hospital in Saint Paul, Minnesota on the evening of Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and service to his family community of Crystal, Minnesota and the greater northwest suburbs of Minneapolis/Saint Paul.

Curt's involvement with the community included working as a principal and educator in the Minnesota Public School System. He also worked at Prison Fellowship and as a toddler teacher at BCC Daycare. His many involvements included volunteering in Christian leadership and mutual aid initiatives.

Curt is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Beatrice (Kearney) Thompson and his wife, Claudette L. Thompson. He is survived by several other relatives including his sister Barbara A. Thompson and two Brothers Asa (Elsie) and Vernon. He has four daughters, Leah Thompson, Janelle (Keith) Clepper, Theresa (Noel) Nix, and Andra Thompson. His three grandsons, Micah Curtis-Thompson and Samuel and Asa Clepper brought him joy in his retirement. Beloved Nephew, BrianThompson (Heather) Zae, Jaina and Avery. The celebration of life service for Curt Thompson of Crystal Minnesota will be held on July 16, 2022 at 6 p.m. Brookdale Christian Center, 6030 Xerxes Avenue North, Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, the family invites loved ones to make a contribution to a memorial fund that has been set up in his name, Brother Curt T. Memorial at Brookdale Christian Center via check to the church or Cash App at $bccagoffering or 612-715-0846. Funds will be used to assist with costs of his care in the last few days of his life.
