About Leroy

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Leroy Allen Walkner who passed away in the comfort of his home and surrounded by family on February 14, 2021, in his 69th year. To know Leroy was to know he always had a contagious smile on his face that could light up a room. He was a gentleman, holding the highest integrity in business and in family life. He had an attitude that the only time you should ever look back is to see how far you have come. This gentle, loving, caring and wonderful man has left a permanent mark etched on our hearts and will be supremely missed by his adoring wife and best friend Maryann Campo. Leroy and Maryann spent many years living adventurously on cruises and traveling around the world, winters in San Diego, riding their custom trike motorcycle, and "chilling" with Netflix, especially over the last year. Leroy loved cheering on the Vikings and winning at Blackjack at the casino, and especially a good meal spent with friends. Leroy loved spending time above all with family and was passionate and proud of his children and grandchildren. He especially loved spending time with them at all kinds of sporting events, of which there were many! Leroy had many gifts was a successful entrepreneur and multi-business owner and builder of many things, including many friendships. Some friends even called him a "Jack of all Trades." He could build anything from houses to stadium interiors. One of is projects was to build a BMX bike track for his son and it ended up benefitting the entire community. Over the past few years, Leroy funneled his talents into day trading which he did with a passion and talent. Loving father of Martina (Larry), Mark (Liezl) and Scott (Jessica), and Celeste. Proud grandfather of Ava, Abrielle, Sydney, Kaidlynn, Travis, Ryan, Celine, Lilian, Roman, Aster & Andrew. Dear brother to Al (Amy), Lee (Carolyn), Lois. He was the son of the late Kenneth and Goldie Walkner, born at the family farm in Cambridge, Minnesota. He was the oldest of 10 children. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins extended family and many good friends. (Published in the Star Tribune on February 21, 2021)
