Young at heart. Age is just a number. Live your life to the fullest. Laughter is the best medicine. One of the best.

About Leo H. Bauman
Leo Bauman, born October 3, 1946, passed away peacefully on February 20th, 2023.
Leo was born and raised in Eagle Grove, IA, one of three boys to Marcela and Nicholas Bauman. Following High School, he enlisted in U.S. military and served in the Navy Construction Battalion, known as the Seabees, serving our country in the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1969. Following the service, Leo moved to Minneapolis, MN and earned a degree in mechanical engineering at Dunwoody College.
While in Minneapolis, Leo met Dolores (Heldorfer). They were married on July 1, 1972 and subsequently became the proud parents to three children: Troy, Todd and Tricia. Leo’s work took them across the country living in St Louis Park, Minnesota; West Bend, Wisconsin; Detroit, Michigan; Lakeville, Minnesota; Knoxville, Tennessee; San Antonio, Texas and a return to Lakeville, Minnesota in 1992. Most of the moves were due to Leo’s 13 years working in the hospitality business overseeing the maintenance of hotel properties for Hyatt Hotels. He met many lifelong friends in the various stops and continued working in hospitality upon returning to Minnesota in 1992 and subsequently worked for the University of Minnesota and the city of Minneapolis in building maintenance services until his retirement. Throughout his career, Leo had a hard time sitting still and took on many second jobs to keep himself busy and support his family. He spent 25 plus years working at the Target Center in Minneapolis where he was a familiar face to many fans. He also worked at Target Field where he enjoyed seeing friends and family members at games.
He had a love for fishing and enjoyed any fishing trip he could go on with friends. He also enjoyed all things sports, whether it was coaching his kids hockey or softball teams or being a lifelong Twins and Vikings fan. He also loved traveling with Dolores, family, and friends. Some of his favorite trips were to Mexico (a speedo was almost always involved), but he also cherished his trips to France, Germany, and Alaska.
There was never a dull moment with Leo around as he found a way to bring humor and laughter to any situation, appropriate or not. He loved his family more than anything and would do anything for them. He was a loyal friend and cherished by all he met. His memory will live on through all those he touched in so many ways.
Leo is survived by his children, Troy (Kylene) Bauman of Bloomington, MN, Todd (Michelle) Bauman of Lakeville, MN, Tricia (Chris) Grady of Chicago, IL. Grandchildren Ryan (17), Abby (15), Jackson (9) and Addison (6). He is also survived by his brother Denny (Marlene) Bauman and many, many in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife and best friend for 50 years, Dolores (Heldorfer) Bauman, parents Nicholas and Marcella Bauman; brother Gene Bauman; his in-laws Erwin and Julia Heldorfer; brother-in-laws Donald Heldorfer, Jack Carlson and Bernie Fox; and nephew Jeff Heldorfer.
