Leila “Lee” Marie Brownfield
Devoted Mother and Grandmother
Leila Marie Brownfield, 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Ridgewood Manor in Maumee, under the care of Ohio Living Hospice.
Leila was born on October 23, 1945, in Toledo, Ohio to David and Alice Beasley (Pfitzer). She grew up in Lambertville, Michigan and graduated from Bedford High School.
Leila lived at Arrowhead Lake in Swanton until 2014 and retired from Parker-Hannifen.
She spent countless summers making memories at Sunny’s Campground with her parents, brother, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed sitting around the campfire, and watching her grandchildren run and play. While at Sunny’s she spent many weekends at Oakshade Raceway.
Leila was a resident of Teamster’s Residence of Maumee for the past 7 years, where she was an involved and loved member of the community. Leila loved her friends at Teamsters, where she hosted many dinners and holidays in her home. She enjoyed playing Bingo, Rummikub, crafting and attending bible study. Leila spent many years enjoying crocheting doilies which she proudly displayed on every table in her home. Leila’s day of fun would be thrift shopping and finding treasures. Leila especially enjoyed cooking and baking for her friends and family. Those who knew Leila knew her love of Pepsi. She was never seen without her favorite blue can in hand at all times, while listening to the police scanner.
Leila is preceded in death by her father and stepmother, David and Blanche Beasley, son Mark Brownfield, sister-in-law Joyce Beasley, nieces Tina Marie Beasley and Melissa Hall.
Leila is survived by her former spouse and life-long friend, Ronald Brownfield and their children; Ron (Christa) Brownfield, Michelle (Herb) Betz and Julie (James Stultz) Wells, brothers; David (Joyce) Beasley, Nathan (Terry) Beasley, Daniel (Sandy) Hall, Douglas (Darlene) Beasley, sisters; Rebecca Eckerman, Debbie (Kerry) Webster and Linda Ross.
Leila delighted in being a grandmother of 11 grandchildren: Michael (Rachael), Gator “Jake” (Brittney), Ronnie (Kayla), Jacob (Amanda), Douglas (Nichole), Nichole, Chelsea, Rebecca, Sarah, Lonnie “Tyler” and Landon. She was overjoyed to have 14 great-grandchildren: Braxton, Brayden, Blake, Owen, Natalie, Charlotte, Mila, Cash, Alicia, Lacey, Liam, Wyatt, Kenai, and Wesley.
