Laura Marie Rothman Consolo, 83, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, at Elk River Senior Living in Minnesota. We find comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Laura was born on October 24, 1942, in Browns Valley, Minnesota, to Donald Smith and Mildred Lotzer. She spent most of her life in Minnesota, where she raised her family and enjoyed a long career as a paralegal for prominent Minnesota attorney John Moody. Following her retirement, she moved to Florida, where she met and married Eugene Consolo. Together they enjoyed life overlooking the Gulf on Marco Island before Laura returned to Minnesota to be closer to her family.

Laura was a devoted Catholic whose faith guided every aspect of her life. She served as a Eucharistic minister, attended daily Mass, volunteered with Meals on Wheels, and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her kindness and generosity were simply part of who she was.

Laura loved snow skiing, water skiing, traveling, and walking on the beach. She traveled throughout Europe and treasured those experiences, but she especially loved the beaches of Marco Island. Nothing brought Laura greater happiness than her children and grandchildren. She was a constant source of love, encouragement, and support, and she helped shape the lives of each of her grandchildren.

Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Consolo; her parents, Donald Smith and Mildred Lotzer; her brother, Bud Smith; and her sisters, Lois Madsen and Leona "Tootie" Krensing.

She is survived by her sons, Dave Rothman (Dihann) and Mark Rothman (Lisa); her beloved grandchildren, Noah, Halle, Jacob, Cole, and Max; her brother, John Lotzer; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Laura will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her generous heart, and the love she gave so freely to her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Elk River, Minnesota, on Tuesday, July 14.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with Mass beginning at 10:30 a.m.
