life story
Laura Freakin' Ashley 💚
Laura Marie Ashley was unapologetically herself—overwhelmingly authentic in a way that made the world feel both sharper and softer. There was only one Laura. If you met her, you knew you were lucky. Her smile, fierce independence, razor-sharp wit, and cackling laugh were all packed into her small frame, like the universe trying to cram too much brilliance into one person.
Her heart belonged to her dogs, especially the older ones who needed a soft landing. She rescued them, cooked their meals by hand, and made sure they had adventures worth bragging about in dog heaven.
Laura was a devoted sister and daughter, but one of her greatest gifts was creating chosen family. She made sure you knew you were loved, that you mattered, and that you were never, ever alone. She had a rare magic for holding both your joy and your grief without flinching.
Kindness, empathy, and the courage to stand up for what’s right—these are Laura’s fingerprints on the world. If you’ve stumbled across this obituary by chance, take it as a nudge: love your people fiercely, set boundaries with anyone who treats you badly, and give your pets an extra snuggle tonight.
Laura, see you rolling down that hill “nick niiickkk nicckollldeeeoon.” Love you.
