About Larry
Larry L. Weiss, 82, of Park Rapids, MN passed away at home on Monday, March 4, 2024.
Larry was born on Sept. 28, 1941 in Park Rapids, MN the son of Lawrence and Ada (Pritchett) Weiss.
He grew up and attended the local Shady Knoll Country School and later Park Rapids Schools.
He was united in marriage to Joyce Louise Miller on Feb. 2, 1962 in Park Rapids, MN. They were blessed with four daughters and a son. Larry has lived and worked near Park Rapids his entire life. He has worked as a tree planter, a caterpillar operator and was in the logging and trucking industry for 42 years, retiring in 2017 from Weiss Logging.
He enjoyed collecting and restoring antique clocks, he loved deer hunting, drinking coffee and visiting with friends, riding his golf cart & shooting gophers. He also liked working and being around machinery.
He really liked his Model T. He was known for his strong work ethic.
He is survived by his spouse – Joyce L. Weiss of Park Rapids, MN; His five children – Tammy Rue of Edmond, OK; Becky Dowless of Jacksonville, NC ; Ron (Kathy) Weiss of Park Rapids, MN; Nancy (Tom) Mitchell of Park Rapids, MN; Lynn (Bruce) Metteret of Fargo, ND; 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. His siblings – Diane Melchert of Park Rapids, MN; Betty Parsons of Park Rapids, MN; Dean (Torchy) Weiss of Hazelton, ND; sister in laws JoAnn Weiss – Park Rapids, MN; Carol Weiss – Hula, Michigan. Many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents – Lawrence and Ada Weiss; sisters – Shirley, Bonnie; brothers, Jerry and Gene Weiss; his brother in law – Ken Parsons; and his infant great grandson – Ronald Dickerson.

Services will begin at 1:30 p.m., with visitation starting at 12:30 p.m. Interment will be held at the Arago-Evergreen Cemetery near Park Rapids, MN.
