Kristin “Kris” Olsson of Milaca, Minnesota, passed away on November 18, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of Music, Art, Compassion & Adventure.

Kris was a gifted musician, who played piano and guitar, sharing her talent and her heart through every note she played and word she sang.

Kris loved to travel and explore. Her travels carried her from the streets of Paris to tropical islands, from Chicago’s bright lights to Alaska’s rugged beauty. Whether she was fishing, hiking, camping, attending concerts, dancing, singing, or joining a drumming circle. Kris embraced every new experience leaving behind a lasting imprint of her spirit.

Kris also was a multi-talented artist who created handcrafted jewelry that was admired by buyers as far away as Sweden. She expressed her creativity in everything she touched. She was a poet, a dreamer, and someone who saw the world through a beautifully imaginative lens.

Kris devoted her life to rescuing, sponsoring, advocating rescue pets and volunteered her time and love at The Wildcat Sanctuary in Sandstone, Minnesota.

She is preceded in death by her loving Mother, Phyllis Olsson. She is survived by her Father, Bill Olsson; Brother, Eric and his wife Laurie Olsson; Niece, Amanda; Great-Nieces, Sofia and Nora; Nephews, Nick and Zach and her longtime partner, Mike Boyle.

Kris also held a special place in the lives of the children of her Best Friend Angela Johnson. She was present throughout the lives of Monica Love Johnson and Devon Johnson and she shared a home and daily life with Jessie Ziemke and Lucas Ziemke—loving them each as if they were her own.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 6th, from 1pm-4pm at one of her favorite places; The Hairy Mosquito Trading Company, 21287 Hwy 169, Milaca, MN. As a Chef who loved feeding others, Kris would be honored by a Potluck Gathering in her memory.
