The Foundation of our Family & A True Heart of Gold

On August 7, 2022 our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and the heart of our family left this earthly world after a courageous battle against Leukemia at the age of 56.

Korine was the 4th child of 10 children, Daughter of Gary Ewell and Sharlene Cannon. She was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple to Jeff Cook on June 28, 1986, for time and all eternity. He loved her the moment he saw her. They had recently celebrated their 36th Wedding Anniversary.

Korine was the keystone of her family. Family always came first, sacrificing her time, talents and heart for her family.

Everyone that knows Korine, recognizes her for her loving, giving heart and kind personality. She loved everyone deeply and was a selfless woman. She was passionate about sports, where she achieved female athlete of the year her senior year at Taylorsville High School. She held many church callings and loved to serve others.

A Fallen Limb

A limb has fallen from the family tree.

I keep hearing a voice that says,

“Grieve not for me.

Remember the best times,

the laughter, the song.

The good life I lived

while I was strong.

Continue my heritage,

I’m counting on you.

Keep smiling and surely

the sun will shine through.

My mind is at ease,

my soul is at rest.

Remembering all,

how I truly was blessed.

Continue traditions,

no matter how small.

Go on with your life,

don’t worry about falls.

I miss you all dearly,

so keep up your chin.

Until the day comes

we’re together again.”
