A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother

Kim grew up in the Como Park area of St. Paul, MN. Kim was a proud graduate of Washington High School in 1979. The last of the Washington “Prexies.” She went on to have a 40-year career with HealthEast as a purchaser, helping to interior design many of their clinics.

Kim loved playing cards with her family on Saturday nights, drinking Mountain Dew, Las Vegas, flip flops, Christmas, listening to the christian musical group “Mercy Me,” mini golf, camping/campfires, and traveling, seeing this beautiful country of ours from their 32’ travel trailer. Of the many places visited, two of her absolute favorite places were Zion National Park in Utah and Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, to which they visited several times. But most of all, it was her family that she loved the most.

Kim is survived by her husband, Bart; children Nicholas (Heather) Struntz, Jessica Peightal, Austin (McKenna) Struntz; stepchildren Jammie (Dan) Westphal, Jennie Cherrier, Jesse Cherrier; eight grandchildren; brother Steve (Jana Schissel) Obitz; sisters Maureen (Jeff) Farber, Laura (Greg) Setley; niece Kayla Obitz; nephews Nathan (Samantha) Obitz, Conor (Maggie) Setley; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Maxine Obitz, and sister-in-law Elaine Obitz.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Alzheimer's Association, or the National Park Foundation.
