About Ken

Kenneth L. Carlson, age 76 of New Richmond, WI, formerly of Grand Marais, passed away on September 20, 2021.

Ken worked in law enforcement for 32 years, serving 18 years as a Cook County Deputy Sheriff.

Ken loved farming, raising animals and crops on his farms in Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin.

Ken and Myrna were married 53 years.

Before Ken married Myrna, he rode the rodeo circuit. He rode bulls and saddle broncs.

Ken also was a Minnesota State Fair Mounted Patrol officer for eight years; an Elk River, Minnesota police officer for two years and a Taney County Deputy Sheriff for 12 years.

He is preceded in death by parents Carl and Laura, brothers Richard and Larry.

Ken is survived by wife Myrna; daughter Kelli (Steve) Lyng, son Daniel (Johanna) Carlson, grandchildren Kasey (Josh), Lexie, Gunnar, Logan, and Tanner; great-granddaughter Grace; siblings Carol, Bob, Jerry, Jimmy, Debbie, Cindy, Kay, Paul, and Wes; and many other in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.
