Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Friend...

Kenneth "Ken" Hallonquist, age [81], of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025. Born to Loren and Norma Hallonquist, Ken was a devoted son, loving husband, cherished father, father-in-law, proud grandfather, and a dear friend to many.

Ken is survived by his beloved wife, Linda, and their three sons, Brett (Robyn), Jason (Ann), and Chad. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Ally (26), Cameron (24), Jack (22), Ryan (21), Kate (19), and Lauren (10). He was preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Norma Hallonquist.

Ken was known for his warmth, humor, and unwavering generosity. He made friends wherever he went, forming lifelong connections with his kind heart and willingness to help others. His love for family and friends was evident in all he did, and the outpouring of support he received during his long battle with health challenges was a testament to the impact he had on those around him.

A devoted husband and father, Ken always put his family first. He was actively involved in his sons' lives—coaching their teams, capturing memories behind the lens of his video camera, and lending a hand with household projects. Becoming a grandfather was a profound and joyful experience for him, something he often described as "the best thing to ever happen to him." His love and enthusiasm only grew when he was surrounded by his grandchildren.

Ken and Linda built a loving home together, forming lifelong friendships through their bowling league, card club, and neighborhood gatherings. Their shared love for the holidays – most notably their elaborate Christmas displays – became a hallmark of their home, evolving into a year-round celebration of love and togetherness.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 20, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Eden Prairie. The visitation will begin at 2 p.m., followed by the memorial service at 3 p.m., with a reception at 4 p.m. The service will also be live streamed via the St. Andrew Lutheran Church website.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, a cause close to Ken’s heart.

Ken’s legacy of love, kindness, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
