Kenneth Gary Peterson, 87, of Bagley, Minnesota passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota.

Ken was born on October 5, 1937, in Solway Minnesota to Christian and Bernice (Olson) Peterson. Ken attended grade school at the Old Solway School and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1955.

He married the love of his life Zola (Osborn) on August 8, 1959, in St. Paul, MN. They were blessed with 5 children-Derek, Denise, Angela, Christian and Jennifer.

Ken was a truck driver for many years, until he broke his back in 1972. He was no longer able to work, and the family moved back up north to be closer to their families. Ken liked working with wood and helped with building an addition on to their house in 1987. You would often find him tinkering around his shop or dropping a line in the water for some fish.

In 2019, he purchased a tiny house and did the entire inside all by himself. He lived there until November 9, 2024, when his health declined. Family was very important to Ken. He loved his children and his grandchildren very much. He cherished their company, giggles, and was always there for a giant hug. Ken enjoyed visiting with anyone over a fresh cup of coffee wherever he went.

He is survived by his children, Derek (Chrissie) Peterson of Virginia, MN, Denise (Tony Alemhoca) Peterson of Yardley, PA, Christian Peterson of Pleasanton, TX, and Jennifer (Jason) West of Bagley, MN; his grandchildren, Robert (Courtney) Haveman of Yardley, PA, Abbi (David) Telford of Gilmore City, IA, Samuel Peterson of Waco, TX, Terrin Peterson of Pleasanton, TX, JacQuell Peterson of Eau Claire, WI, Kari Al-Thanon, Elise (Joey Sundquist) West of Gonvick, MN, Kiya (Dustin Rhineberger) West of Bagley, MN, and Morgan West of Bagley, MN; his great grandchildren, Larry & Beau Telford, Roman & Holden Haveman, Kash Monroy, Kenneth, Kahlow & Adnan Al-Thanon, Wesley Sundquist, Lincoln, Beverly & Eleanor Rhineberger; his brother Keith and his sisters Janet & Karen and many other loved relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Zola in 2018; his beloved daughter, Angela Lynn; his parents, Christian and Bernice Peterson; his brothers-Marvis, Wesley, Lowell, Rodney, Dean, Paul, and Merton; his sisters-Louise, Hollis, and Maxine; and his in-laws- William and Faye Osborn.
