Kaye L. Cassidy died peacefully on December 20, 2023, one day shy of her 73rd birthday, with her son, Patrick, at her side.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick, and her daughter, Catherine.

She is survived by her son, Patrick Jr., and extended family members, Steve, Margaret and Phil Cassidy (Jolene), Sheila Gohl and Tony VanDanacker; by nieces and nephews, Frank and Robert Gohl, Ashley Kaliszewski (Mike), Marissa Finn (Will) and Aaron VanDanacker; as well as by the greats: Trinity, Vera, Brynley, and Jude.

The daughter of Leonard and Faye Schultz, Kaye was raised in Mountain Lake, MN. Upon graduation from Mountain Lake High School, Kaye moved to the Twin Cities, where she met and married Pat. She worked for many years at St. Jude of the Lake Catholic Church in Mahtomedi, MN, directing faith formation for children and adults, planning and carrying out a wide variety of pastoral activities in service to the church community. Kaye completed an undergraduate degree in theology at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, where she also pursued a Master’s Degree. She loved the study of theology and spirituality, and was justifiably proud of her academic learning. After retiring from St. Jude’s, Kaye volunteered at Mary’s Pence in St. Paul, an organization that supports grassroots women’s organizations in the Americas through funding and a variety of networking activities.

A funeral mass for Kaye will be held at St. Jude of the Lake Catholic Church in Mahtomedi, MN on Saturday, January 13th at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. A private family burial will occur at a later date.

Kaye’s family would like to thank the dedicated staff of St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, the Woodbury Senior Care Center, and Lifespark Hospice for their care and concern for Kaye.
