Kathleen P. Daniel

Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Kathleen died peacefully at age 102 after a brief illness.

Born in 1920 in the small farm town of Grenora, North Dakota, Kathleen grew up in New York City. She graduated from Barnard College and worked briefly on Wall Street before joining the Navy in 1943, where she met her husband Milan, a Navy flier. For over 50 years they lived in Fairfield and Southport, CT, never far from Long Island Sound. Kathleen earned a master’s degree in library science and was librarian at Fairfield’s Roger Ludlowe HS for 24 years. She loved swimming, reading, hot coffee, bridge, seeing the United States by RV, and traveling in Europe.

In 2012 Kathleen moved to Waverly Gardens in North Oaks, MN to be near family.

Kathleen was preceded in death by husband Milan and is survived by sons Mark (Linda) and Jeffrey, granddaughter Elizabeth (Philip), and great-grandson Maxwell. Kathleen will be interred with Milan at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, St. Paul.
