life story
Kathleen "Kate" Hickey, was born on March 25, 1952, in St. Paul, Minnesota. Kate went to heaven to be with the fairies and leprechauns on January 19, 2026, at Abbott Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota after an acute illness. She was 73 years young.
Kathleen dedicated her professional life working for the City of St. Paul Police Department in Human Resources.
Kate is survived by her two sons; Chad Fleming and his wife Danyelle, and Son Brandon Fleming. Her love extended to her cherished grandchildren, Zachary and Eille, who brought immense joy into her life. Kathleen also shared a close bond with her sisters, Carole Angstman and Jane Sadowski. Her warmth, sass, humor, stubbornness and generosity touched many others as well—she was surrounded by numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and friends who were like family.
Kathleen found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed shopping excursions, traveling to new places, crafting, catching a good movie at the theater, and treating herself to getting her nails done—activities that reflected her vibrant spirit and appreciation for beauty, fun and connection. Kathleen was immensely proud of her Irish Heritage.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Flaherty, and father, William Hickey, and stepmother Verna Daley
Kathleen's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her legacy bring comfort and peace to all whose lives she touched.
