Judith Welander

October 14, 1939 – March 3, 2023

Judy went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 3, 2023.

Judy grew up in Duluth, MN and graduated from Central High School in 1957; she attended the University of MN Duluth and Duluth Business University. She met the love of her life, Ellsworth Welander while serving at Trout Lake Camp in 1958, they went on to be married on August 22, 1959. They moved to California where they lived for 8 years before returning back to the Twin Cities.

Judy spent 83 wonderful years spreading Christ’s love to any and all around her. She took enormous delight in every member of her family, relishing each milestone and achievement without ever seeking credit for herself. Her home was never empty and was open to anyone in need. She had a special place in her heart for the youngest members of her family and never tired of holding and loving on them. Judy was an avid reader and loved preparing meals and treats for family and friends.

She will be greatly missed by her son Kenneth; Daughters; Lori (Raymond) Judge & Sandy (Steve) Wiatrak, Grandchildren; Andrew Welander, Matthew (Nicole) Hell, Nick (Lauren) Welander, Renae Hell, Kailey (Josh) Schoenecker, Rebecca (Bryce) Brethorst, five great-grandchildren, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ellsworth, Parents Walter & Hannah Olson, Brother (Kenneth) and Sister (Margaret).

Services for Judy will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Meadow Creek Church (3061 Bunker Lake Blvd NW Andover, MN 55304). Visitation will begin at 10:00am, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00am. Lunch will be served after the service.
