Judith Lenore Shafer (Hagen)

Judy Lenore Shafer (Hagen), aged 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 18, 2024, in West St. Paul, MN. Known for her loving, generous nature and a sense of humor that brought joy to all who knew her, Judy was deeply proud of her Norwegian heritage.

Judy was born on February 1, 1943, and spent her formative years in Cannon Falls, MN, where she attended high school. Post-education, she further honed her skills at a cosmetology school in Minnesota before dedicating herself to raising her family, a role she cherished deeply. She later joined the workforce at Kmart in West St. Paul, where she remained a dedicated employee for 25 years.

Her life was filled with the joy of simple pleasures; she loved shopping with her daughter Nicole, affectionately nicknamed "Ninny," her lifelong "runnin' buddy." Judy's love extended beyond her immediate family as she enjoyed cooking and shopping and was always on the lookout for thoughtful gifts for her loved ones, shopping throughout the year to find just the right thing.

Judy is survived by her husband, Mark; her sons, Chris and Todd (Karen); her daughter, Nicole Nakhla (Rick); her granddaughter, Tiffany Beamer; her sister, Julie Erickson (Marty); and her brother, Don Hagen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alma and Selmer Hagen. A private memorial service will be held to honor Judy's life. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer's research in Judy's name. Her spirit, characterized by boundless love and generosity, will be dearly missed and forever cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
