life story
In loving memory of Mom
Judith Eileen (nee Carlson) Crotteau passed away peacefully on May 7th, 2024, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, due to complications from dementia. She was surrounded by her youngest son, Michael, and his family.
A graduate of Johnson High School in St. Paul, Minnesota, Judy attended Bethel College and worked in medical administration at Payne Avenue Medical Clinic.
Judy was devoted to her family and faith, with a deep love for camping, hiking, and biking with her husband Bruce on various rails-to-trails around Minnesota.
In her later years, Judy made a point to spend time living near each of her children, Brian in Minneapolis, Michael in Grand Marais and Sandra in Boulder, Colorado. This gave her the fortunate opportunity to spend quality time with her grandchildren.
Her beautiful piano playing, passion for her grandchildren, and profound kindness touched everyone she met. Judy also enjoyed volunteering at her church and senior living community.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce L. Crotteau, and siblings Roger (Alice) Carlson, Lois (Don) Taverna, Joan (Clare) Bell, Harriet (Ron) Youngquist, and twin sister Janet (Karl) Irwin. She is survived by her three children: Brian (Sue) Crotteau, Sandra Crotteau Krizek (Kevin), and Michael (Traci) Crotteau. Her legacy includes five grandchildren: Benton, Isabella, Holden, Hattie, and Aricin.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 19th, at Interstate State Park, Taylors Falls, Minnesota, from 4 pm - 7 pm.
