About Joyce

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Joyce Lynn Moxom-Collins, age 61, on the evening of October 14th. After a courageous four-month battle with non-small cell lung cancer, she passed peacefully, surrounded by love.

Joyce was born on April 27th, 1964, in Belle Fourche, South Dakota, to Leonard McKenney and Laura Lee McKenney (Mitchell).

She is preceded in death by her father, Leonard McKenney.

Joyce is survived by her mother, Laura Lee McKenney (Mitchell); her sister, LeArda McKenney; her children, Sean Collins, Vivian Collins, and Evie Moxom; and her fiancé, Kip Hartung—along with countless friends and loved ones who were touched by her life.

Joyce had a deep love for the outdoors, no matter the season or weather. She often spent time in northern Wisconsin with her fiancé, Kip, where they shared countless projects, adventures, and moments of peace. Joyce loved skiing, snowmobiling, and wandering through nature’s many gifts.

Above all, Joyce was an extraordinary mother. Her children were the center of her world, and she cared for them with patience, warmth, and devotion. Her kindness extended far beyond her own family—she was affectionately known as an “extra mom” to many of her children’s friends, a title she wore with pride.

The loss of Joyce is felt deeply by all who knew her, but so too is the light she leaves behind. She lived life to the fullest, sharing love, laughter, and adventure wherever she went.

St George Catholic Church 133 N Brown Rd, Long Lake, MN 55356, USA

Joyce's celebration of life will be held at St George, with visitation starting at 10:00am, followed by Mass at 11:00am.

A luncheon will be held following mass in the church's community center.
