About John

John Robert Ackerman age 76 of St. Paul died peacefully on April 23, 2021, one day shy of his 57th Wedding Anniversary. John left peacefully to be with God surrounded by his family.

John loved all things “Outdoors”. He enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing Lake Superior with his kids, grandkids and friends. John and Kathy spent many summers touring the West on their motorcycle and had great adventures that they reminisced about for years.

John was a father figure to many and especially loved children and babies.

Preceded in death by parents John and Jennie Ackerman of Minneapolis. Survived by his wife Kathy, daughters Julie (Mark) Freundschuh and Kim (Jonathan) Eng and son J.F. Mark Ackerman.

Nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Sister, Marion (Mark) Gilbertson and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
