About John

John was born to Walter and Sophia Lindstrom on April 4, 1941, on the family farm in rural North Branch and attended North Branch High School, graduating in 1959. John married Sandra Klatt on November 2, 1963. Together they had two children, daughter Lori Shir and son Jason Lindstrom. John proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from January 1966 to December 1967. John worked at a variety of jobs as auto mechanic, construction laborer, cement finisher, and ended his work years as custodian and Director of Buildings and Maintenance with the North Branch School District #138, 1974 through 2003.

John is survived by his wife Sandra Lindstrom; daughter Lori (Dave) of Stanchfield; son Jason (Kris) of North Branch; sister Corinne Johnson of North Branch; Grandchildren Sophia Shir, Natasha Biel, Alyssa Thom, Alexa Pechia, and Hailey Magnison; Great Grandchildren Emma and Carter Pechia, and Eleanora and Lovelyn Biel; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Walter 1999 and Sophia 1971; brother Wallace Lindstrom 2017; sister Carol Cantwell 2021; brothers-in-law Kenneth M. Johnson 2013 and William Cantwell Sr. 2000; and nephew Kevin Johnson 2023.

Funeral and Celebration of Life

Funeral services will be held September 9, 2023, 10:00 a.m. at St. Johns Cemetery, 7884 County Rd 5 NE, North Branch, MN 55056.

A celebration of life will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Dave and Lori’s home, 38696 Lever Drive NE, Stanchfield, MN 55080.
