John H. Cordell (Johnny), 76, of Park Rapids, MN passed away on February 10, 2023 at Greenwood Connections in Menahga after a battle with Alzheimer’s/Dementia.

He is preceded in death by parents Howard and Dorothy, brother James, sister Margaret Spencer; sister-in-law, Theresa (Gene) Spande.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Barb, sister Mary (Dave) Swatosch, sister Patricia Jorgensen, son Sean (Christine), daughter Bree (Adam) Tremain, step son, Jason Hastings, step daughter Jessica (Donny) Jones, sister- in- law Deb (Doug) Swanson, grandsons Dustin Sullivan, James Farmer, Nicholas Jones, and Lincoln Cordell, granddaughters Bella Brownlee and Cadence Cordell, great grandson, Mason Sullivan, 15 nieces and nephews, 23 great nieces and nephews.

John was born on July 5, 1946 in Minneapolis; he grew up in Minnetonka, graduated from high school in 1964 and later from Dunwoody as an electrician. He later obtained his master electrician license and worked with several construction companies.

In 2000, he moved to Park Rapids with his wife Barb and grandson Jimmy to his dream home on Luebeck Lake. He worked for Leech Lake Gaming for 10 years.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman and Twins fan. He enjoyed playing golf and tennis and watching football. He loved his dogs and the outdoors.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. A luncheon will be held at the funeral home following the service. John’s family suggests memorials in lieu of flowers.
