John Hugh Peterson

John Hugh Peterson of Shoreview, MN entered into Eternal Life on November 10, 2022. He was the 2nd son born on December 9, 1936 to Edwin and Frances (O’Connor) Peterson in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

After graduating from DeLaSalle High School, John attended The University of Saint Thomas in Saint Paul, MN earning both his Bachelors and Masters degrees in English and Education.

On June 18, 1965, he married Monica S. Boland at the Pool and Yacht Club in Saint Paul, MN.

For over 30 years John enjoyed being a junior high school teacher with his very first job up in Indus, MN, then landing a very long and successful career with Mounds View Public Schools.

When he wasn’t teaching, John enjoyed summers at the cabin, fishing, telling jokes, playing music as a very gifted musician and his biggest passion in retirement, playing golf.

John was Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Edward Peterson of Green Lake, WI. He is survived by his children: Tim (Pamela) Peterson, JoLee (Matt) McDevitt, Tom (Clorissa Corbett) Peterson, 7 grand children and several nieces and nephews.
