Born July 18, 1934 to George and Anna (Davison) Yocum in Ashton, IL, and raised in Bagley, MN by Harold and Emma Yocum.

John is survived by his wife of 61 years, LuVerne; his children, Mike Yocum, Karen Freer, David Yocum, and Dean (Tammy) Yocum; 4 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
