John Henry Schroer, 74, of South St. Paul, MN, passed away on August 16, 2023, at Our Lady of Peace in St. Paul.

Born on December 5, 1948, in Mitchell, SD, John was the cherished son of the late Henry and Bessie (Masters) Schroer. He now joins his parents and sibling, Kim A. Schorers, in eternal rest.

John is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Deborah (Westphal) Schroer. Loving memories will forever be treasured by their son, John "Jay" Schroer, and daughter, Valerie (Greg) Lewis. John will also be fondly remembered by his dear granddaughters, Vanessa and Gabriella Lewis. In addition, he leaves behind siblings, Nancy Colby of Brandon, SD; Rev. Charles (Jennifer) Schroer of Greencastle, PA; Deanna Griffin of Eagan, MN; and Dennis (Kelly) Schroer of Sioux Falls, SD, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

John graduated from high school at Lincoln High School in Sioux Falls, SD.

John had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping, and keeping an eye on the weather. He also found great joy in watching sports, cheering for the MN Twins and Vikings. His enthusiasm for these hobbies brought him closer to his loved ones and created lasting memories.

In honor of John, a Celebration of Life will be held in Sioux Falls on a date and time that will be announced soon. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests any charitable contributions be directed to Our Lady of Peace Residential Hospice who cared for him during his final weeks.
