John Charles Scanlon

John Charles Scanlon passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022. He was born on March 1, 1946 to parents William and Margaret Scanlon. Survived by wife of 49 years, Monica; children Sean (Fiona Robinson) Scanlon, Erin Scanlon (Scott Bjorklund) and Jenny (Joe) Mahoney; 3 grandchildren; siblings Jim (Chris) Scanlon, Jane (Dave) Johnson, and Joe (Pat) Scanlon; and many beloved nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Visitation: 1pm - 2pm // Memorial Service: 2pm

Please join us to celebrate the life of John Scanlon. A visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm. Please feel free to not wear black – John said he wanted people to wear colorful clothing.

We ask for no flowers due to allergies. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity or Second Harvest Heartland (details below).

Pardon Me For Not Getting Up

Oh dear, if you’re reading this right now,

I must have given up the ghost.

I hope you can forgive me for being

Such a stiff and unwelcoming host.

Just talk amongst yourself my friends,

And share a toast or two.

For I am sure you will remember well

How I loved to drink with you.

Don’t worry about mourning me,

I was never easy to offend.

Feel free to share a story at my expense

And we’ll have a good laugh at the end.
