About John Cochran
John Albert "Jac" Cochran, 72, of Champlin, died 25 August after a long illness. Born in Holyoke, Colorado to Marian (Swanson) and James H. Cochran, he spent most of his early years in Moorhead.
John graduated in 1969 from Moorhead High School, where he was a debate champion and played first-chair trombone in the concert and marching bands.
A 1981 graduate of the University of North Dakota, John began his professional career as a software engineer at Honeywell Aerospace in the area of military avionics. He eventually became Director of Advertising, Image and Identity before retiring in 2000.
After serving one year as Vice President for Strategy at Javelin Solutions, Inc., he co-founded Cochran Communications Network, which he operated for several years.
John had a passion for keeping up with technical innovations, especially in automobiles and biotechnology. He had a remarkable memory for jokes and a talent for telling stories. He was also very attached to his cat Lizzie, a longtime companion.
Previously married to Wendy Lou Mesker, deceased, and to Deborah Wood DuBois, Inverness, FL, he leaves three adult children: Clayton, of Wanamingo; Catherine, of Burnsville; and Mary, at his home in Champlin; and three brothers: James, of Woodbury, Robert, of Peoria, AZ, and William, of Valley City, ND.
