August 6, 1952 – November 27, 2025

Jodee Jean (Carter) Kuschel, age 73, of Centerville, MN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on August 6, 1952, in St. Paul, MN, to Orville and Mary Jean Carter, Jodee grew up with a strong sense of family and faith. She graduated from St. Agnes High School in 1970 and, just two years later, married the love of her life, David Kuschel. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with devotion, laughter, and adventure. This past September, Jodee and David joyfully celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary.

Their journey together brought them two beloved children, Aimee (Abe) Potter and Chad (Morgan) Kuschel, and four cherished grandchildren—McKenna, Gavin, Carter, and Hunter—who were the light of Jodee’s life. She delighted in every milestone, every smile, and every hug, always making sure her grandchildren knew how deeply they were loved.

Jodee and David spent most of their years in Shoreview and Lino Lakes, MN, with brief chapter in Mesa, AZ, before settling in Centerville. Retirement opened the door to one of their greatest joys—traveling across many States with family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

A dedicated and hardworking woman, Jodee held many roles while raising her children, but she found her true professional home at the City of Shoreview. She retired in 2016, though her love of staying active led her to continue for two more years 2021-2023 part-time. Her colleagues became lifelong friends, and her warmth and kindness left a permanent mark on everyone she met.

Family and friends were the heartbeat of Jodee’s world. She never missed an opportunity to celebrate others—whether through a phone call, a text, or a thoughtful Facebook post. Her thoughtfulness and unwavering presence made every birthday, anniversary, and life moment more special.

Jodee was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Mary Jean Carter; her sister, Mary Beth (Carter) Carey; and her brother, Orville Carter Jr.

She is survived by her devoted husband, David Kuschel; her children, Aimee (Abe) Potter and Chad (Morgan) Kuschel; her grandchildren, McKenna, Gavin, Carter, and Hunter; and her siblings and their spouses: Candy and Dave Sina, Michelle and Steve Davis, Kelly Carter, Mike Carter and Karen Stifter, Darcy and Jerry Mielke, Tracy and Dennis Niles, Marla and Kenny Peters, and Jill Bloomquist. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.

The family will gather to remember Jodee after the holidays, with details to be announced.

Jodee’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and devotion. She will be remembered as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose joy was found in the people she cherished most. Her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched.
