JoAnn Eloise Vestal, 92, of Burnsville, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 14, 1932, in the family’s Kansas farmhouse, JoAnn was the youngest of six children, known for her quick wit and easy laugh that brought joy to all who knew her.
JoAnn is survived by her daughters, Jody Heeney (Mike), Janet Vestal, and Jill Rowland (Bill); six adoring grandchildren, Jennifer Seacrest (Brook), Heather Heeney, Garon Rowland (Andrew), Jamie Rowland (Molly), Sarah Heeney, and Molly Dunn (Derek); three great-grandchildren, Olivia Seacrest, Wesley Rowland, and Calvin Rowland; her brother Lyle Webb; and many loving nieces, nephews. She is also survived by two cherished friends, Barbara Chrisman and Linda Lange, who were family to her in every way.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents, Clyde and Ethel Webb; her siblings Clyde Jr., Lloyd, Maxine, and Twila; and her beloved brother- and sister-in-law, Walter and Jerry Jorgensen.
JoAnn embraced life as a “doer” and was endlessly talented. From fixing her own plumbing to sewing, baking legendary Christmas cookies, or tackling home improvement projects with her jigsaw, there seemed to be nothing she couldn’t master.
She was an avid pianist who loved sharing music with her family, a golfer, and a barbershop singing Sweet Adeline. JoAnn’s love of life extended to the small things—crossword puzzles, cheering on the Minnesota Twins, savoring mini Dove bars, and, above all, the precious time she spent with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She had a unique bond with each one, offering unconditional love, sage advice, and endless encouragement. She celebrated their milestones, cheered on their dreams, and created countless cherished memories —whether it was baking together, tackling a DIY project, or simply enjoying their company.
JoAnn’s life was a celebration of love, resilience, and creativity. She was a woman who could turn ordinary days into extraordinary memories, whether through her laughter, her uncanny ability to fix or build just about anything, or her famous chocolate crinkle cookies.
She loved deeply, lived fully, and left an indelible mark on all who were lucky enough to know her.
