JoAnn Marie (Tangen) Nelson

About JoAnn

Born in St. Paul, MN to Harry and Esther (Burke) Tangen. Married to Walter for 65 years. Graduated from Johnson High School in 1951 and Macalester College (St. Paul) in 1955. For most of her career, she worked as a med-tech and junior scientist in the Pediatric Infectious Disease Division of the University of MN Medical School. In the 1990’s she also worked in the microbiology lab at Park Nicollet (St. Louis Park, MN). Preceded in death by her parents and husband. Survived by her sons Ed (Susie) and Jon (Terri), brother Ted, 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Celebration of Life

March 18, 2023

Celebration will be in the Lyngblomsten Chapel from 1:00 - 3:00 with a sharing of memories at 1:30. Light refreshments will follow downstairs in the Lyngblomsten Community Room.
