Survived by sons, Sonny (Marie), Jeff, Darren; grandchildren, Sonny (Michelle), Chavelle, Darnelle; great-grandchildren, Jason (Gina), Elena, Jalen, Elise, Nevaeh, Victoria; great-great-grandchild, Juliana; sister, Cher-ie; nieces, Janice (Danny), Marjorie, Tanya; nephews, Danny and Mike; Mercado family.

Joan worked in the St. Paul Public School system for 25 years.
