Joan (Joni) Bullard

Joan (Joni) Bullard passed away July 21st at UofM Fairview with her daughters by her side. She was born in Philadelphia and moved to Minnesota in her late teens where she enjoyed the entirety of her life. Once here she met Jimmie Sparks and had their daughter Rita. Some years later she met Mike Bullard and had their daughter Leanna. Along the way she was able to put down roots and had many meaningful friendships.

She cared for and loved spending time with her grandchildren and went to every event she was able. She enjoyed the outdoors including camping, hiking and watching wildlife, particularly birds. She always had a love for plants. There was a garden every year she was able and always had beautiful plants in her home. Spending time with her friends, whether it was at the BluesFest, the local spot or the camper was a great joy for her. She loved to talk about the weather, good or bad. She will be remembered for her pragmatic yet enthusiastic attitude towards life. She will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Clara (Delvechio) Sfrisi. Survived by her family; Dale (Black) Horejsi, her companion of 30yrs, her daughters Rita (Jeff) Lahti and Leanna (Gabe) Dreher, and her grandchildren Sophie, Vivian, Tom and Al.
