"Dads are the most ordinary of men turned by love into
heroes, adventurers, storytellers and singers of song."
Jerry Mark Curry passed away in the embrace of his family on January 26, 2025 in Fairfax, VA after a prolonged and courageous battle fighting a lung infection.
Jerry was born on October 27, 1943 in Kansas City Missouri, to his loving parents Harold and June (Mears) Curry as the eldest of four siblings. The family lived in Abilene, Kansas until they moved to Loveland, Colorado in1955. Jerry graduated from Loveland High School in 1961, and worked for Brown’s Shoe Fit while in high school. He attended Colorado State University before moving into a role with Carter's, selling children's apparel across the midwestern states.
Jerry married Donna Woollen in 1963 and they had two daughters, Stacey and Jeri Michelle. In 1975 Jerry and his family moved to Boulder, CO where he purchased China Jones, a ladies clothing store located on Pearl Street. After selling the store in 1978, he embarked on a new profession in real estate and spent the next 40 years building a successful and award winning career selling residential and commercial properties throughout Colorado as a Broker with Wright-Kingdom Realty. Jerry was a frequent speaker at continuing education events and was committed to helping his clients find their ideal home and worked tirelessly on their behalf.
In 2018, Jerry retired and moved to St. George, Utah where he enjoyed spending time with his brother and exploring the nearby desert areas in his dune buggy.
Throughout his life, Jerry remained active in the Boulder and St George communities. He served as Vice President, Director, and Instructor of the Boulder Area Realtor Association and the Chairman of Downtown Boulder and the Ducks Unlimited Boulder Chapter. He was a lifetime member of the Rocky Mountain Elks Foundation, a member of the Boulder Philharmonic Board, a member of the St. George Dixie Elks Lodge #1743 and volunteer with the St. George Food Bank
Jerry was a colorful storyteller who lived and loved with all his heart. He was a devoted and proud father and grandfather, an avid hunter and fisherman, an optimistic dreamer, an adventurer, a life-long learner, and a voracious reader.
Jerry and his generous spirit, his vivacious energy, and his playful smile will be missed and always remembered by his family and circle of friends.
