Jerry Jerome Joy passed away on Sunday, July 30 at the Good Samaritan Center in Blackduck, MN.

He was born on July 21, 1939 in Blackduck to Wilma (Weller) and Eugene Joy and graduated from Blackduck High School in 1957. He spent most of his life working with large equipment on road construction, as a logger and later as a semi-truck driver. HIs interest in old machinery, especially tractors, continued on for years.

He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and hunting and visiting with friends. Jerry had the ability to talk to anyone, always having a joke or story to share.

Jerry is survived by his children and their families: Jim and Mary Joy of Hines, Barb and Mike Sunell of Blackduck, and Laurie and Todd Turner of Naytahwaush. His grandchildren are Nicole (Mike) Eck, Chris (Tess) Joy, Sandy Miller, LeaAnne (Saul) Contreras, Steven Sunell, Tj (Kate) Turner and Travis Turner, as well as seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Lowell (Gloria) Joy, John (Nancy) Joy, sister Sue Joy, and sister-in-law Mary Joy.

Jerry was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Pat, his brother Dale and his parents.
