Jeffrey Scott Lee
Jeffrey Scott Lee, 65, of Orchard Lake, Michigan, passed away peacefully on November 27th, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved so dearly. After a courageous three-year battle with pancreatic cancer, Jeff’s remarkable strength, humor, and unwavering love remained with him until his final moments.
Born on October 26, 1960, at Grace Hospital in Detroit, Jeff was the son of Ronald and Earlene Lee. He spent his early childhood in Livonia before moving to Lathrup Village, where he built friendships that would last his entire life. Outside of school, Jeff’s childhood was as close to perfect as one could imagine: long summer days at the local swim club, weekends at the family cottage on Mullet Lake, and years later, treasured time at the Lake Michigan cottage.
Jeff earned his associate degree from Lansing Community College and later graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan Dearborn. He went on to build a fulfilling career as a designer and later an engineer with Chrysler, proudly working in the Jeep Axle group until his retirement in 2019.
Those who knew Jeff will remember him as a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He was someone who could always make you laugh with his gentle wit and who found his greatest joy simply being with the people he loved. He cherished the friendships he’d held since childhood, always appreciating the rare gift of lifelong friendship.
Jeff had a deep passion for music and played guitar every chance he had. He was also an avid reader, drawn especially to non-fiction and historical works. He lived by a strong moral compass and worked hard to instill in his sons the importance of doing the right thing, even when no one is looking.
Athletics and the outdoors shaped much of Jeff’s life. He played football in elementary school and high school, enjoyed pond hockey, ice boating, and spending time on Upper Straits and Orchard Lake, and treasured nearly every weekend spent at the family cottage on Lake Michigan, which was his favorite place in the world. Most family vacations took place in Northern Michigan, where Jeff felt most at home.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Vicki, and their sons, Matthew and Michael; his brother, Greg (Chris); his sister, Jennifer (James); his stepmother, Karen; his aunt, Sandra; as well as nephews Alex (Eva), Luke (Yesenia), Issac, and John and nieces Danielle (Brandon), Kate (Justin), Ellen (Matt), and Anna (Wade). He is preceded in death by his father, Ronald F. Lee; mother, Earlene R. Lee; aunt, Susan E. Cherry; uncle, Jeffrey R. Lee; and grandparents. His memory will forever live on in the laughter he shared, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely.
Jeff’s family finds comfort knowing he is now at peace and that the lakes he adored so much will always carry a little bit of his spirit in their waves.
life story
My childhood life was a close to perfect as I can imagine ...
On the northeast corner of Mullet Lake is a road named Mullet Lake Woods Road. It dead ends into the lake and the cottage was on the south side of the road. Here from 1967 to 1977 we rented the cottage first by the month and then by the year. It was private & quiet and we spent time there boating, swimming, fishing and spending nights by the campfire.
