life story

Loving Wife, Mom, Grandma, Aunt, and Friend

You will truly be missed

Jean Hoium, 78, of Blaine, MN, passed away peacefully at her home, just 10 short weeks after being diagnosed with liver cancer. She had previously been a breast cancer survivor.

Graduated from Spring Lake Park High School in 1962.

She married Jerry Hoium on September 29, 1969 and ultimately made their home in Blaine, MN where they raised their family.

After working more than 50 years in the Trucking Industry, as a Billing Clerk/Customer Service Representative, she retired in 2016 from FedEx Freight.

Her hobbies included bowling, gambling, gambling, and more gambling. She enjoyed everything from playing poker, bingo, slot machines, pull tabs, scratch offs, and the lottery. She also had a love for the MN sports teams (Vikings, Twins, and Timberwolves) and any teams her kids or grandkids played on. She was also a member of our family fantasy football league...although she never won the Superbowl....she regularly won the toilet bowl.

Jean enjoyed spending as much time as she could around family and friends having good conversation and lots of laughs.

She was intentionally not politically correct, which put her in Facebook jail multiple times. She relished the fact that she was actually put in Facebook jail!

Jean is survived by her loving husband Jerry, and children Kristy (John) Tverberg, Rob (Nicole) Hoium, Jeff Hoium, and Brian (Tasha) Hoium and grandchildren Travis, Kasie, Ashley, Cassidy, Taylor and great granddaughter Stella.

Preceded in death by her parents Eugene "Bud" and Lillian Lorden, Brother Jim, Sisters Rose, Mickey, and Linda.
