About Jason

Jason Dirk Motl, unexpectedly passed away on August 21, 2022, in Bertha, Minnesota at the age of 54. He was born December 30, 1967, to Duane and Renate Motl.

Jason was previously married to Shannon Jedlicka in 1995 and became the father to six children, Megan, Jesse, Cole, Dakota, Georgia, and Brooklyn. Jason was raised in the Clarissa area and graduated from the Clarissa High School in 1986. After graduation, Jason enlisted in the Army as a tanker. Upon discharge, he was self-employed as a semi-truck driver, and a mechanic. Jason’s past time included riding motorcycles, competing in truck pulls, drag racing, teaching mechanics to his children and son-in-law, and singing karaoke in his younger days. He had a passion for old vehicles and passed that passion on to his family.

Jason was a powerful presence in the lives of his parents, children, siblings, numerous nieces and nephews, special friend Lorrie, and friends. One of his greatest life achievements was to be Papa to Bentley. He called him his “Little Buddy” and always had dollars for him. He will be sadly missed by all.

Jason is survived by his parents, Duane and Renate Motl; his children, Megan (Jeff) Bryan, Jesse Motl, Cole Motl, Dakota Motl, Georgia Motl, and Brooklyn Motl; grandson Bentley and one on the way; brothers, Kiev (Cheryl) Motl, and Russell (Courtney) Williams; sisters, Pam (Jamie) Herding, and Rachelle Williams; many nieces and nephews; and special friend Lorrie Wold.
