Jason Dennis Whitmore

July 20, 1971 – February 13, 2024

Frontenac, MN, USA

Jason Dennis Whitmore, 52, of Frontenac, MN, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 after a courageous 17 year battle with multiple sclerosis (MS). He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing. Jason was a 1990 graduate of Red Wing High School. In his younger years he enjoyed spending time outdoors with his dogs - hunting, fishing, and enjoying nature. After marrying and building his dream home in Hay Creek, he enjoyed spending time with his kids riding four wheeler, woodworking and hunting. Throughout his courageous fight with MS, he grew in faith to love his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Jason worked as a heavy equipment foreman/operator for the International Union of Operating Engineers. Jason took pride in being a 49er until his MS complications made it too difficult to complete his responsibilities. His coworkers described him as a dedicated, meticulous, and hard working individual, both at work and at home.

Jason is survived by his wife, Cindy; daughter Cheyanna Whitmore (special friend Chris Young); Frontenac, MN; son, Hunter (Kassidy) Sutherland-Whitmore; Northfield, MN; stepdaughter, Kristen (Benjamin) Brummell; Madison, WI; stepson, Jesse Reglin; Hayward, WI; granddaughter, Cari Young; Frontenac, MN; and stepgrandkids Bryton and Brenna Reglin; Hayward, WI. Jason is further survived by his parents, Marlis and Dennis Whitmore; Red Wing, MN; brothers, Steven Whitmore; Red Wing, MN; Terry (Amy) Whitmore; Nekoosa, WI; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Jason was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Donald and VonCeil Wiech; paternal grandparents, Warren and Martha Stockwell and Alva Whitmore; his in-laws, Edward and Carol Gilles and DeLores Peters; and special uncle, Dean Whitmore.

The family would like to thank the caregivers of St. Croix Hospice for their loving care to Jason and his family over the last couple of months as well as the staff at Lake City and Red Wing Hospitals.
