Janice Bloom
June 28, 1941 – April 3, 2025
White Bear Township, MN, USA
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Janice Bloom, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who left this world on April 3, 2025 at home. Janice was born on June 28, 1941 in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Janice was a woman of remarkable strength and kindness, known for her unwavering support and compassion for those around her. She dedicated her life to her family, raising four children. Janice had a zest for life that was infectious. She loved traveling with her husband Bill, often exploring state parks and bringing the grandchildren along for the ride. When she wasn’t traveling with Bill, you could find her fishing on a lake somewhere in Northern Minnesota.
Janice spent over 43 years as a dedicated employee within The Salvation Army Organization. Over the years she held many different roles within the organization. Her favorite by far was Manager of the Food Service Department. She would plan and prepare thousands of meals each year for the homeless. Jan would plan and execute a Thanksgiving feast each year that would often be televised on local news, with famous volunteers in attendance.
Janice is survived by daughter, Cheryl and son, Scott; her cherished grandchildren, Kristin (Ty), William (Racheal), Jenny, Christopher; several great-grandchildren and a host of friends who will miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, William, her father, Earle Harlan, mother, Elaine Scott, her brother, Theodore Harlan, daughter, Roxanne and son, Kelly.
Janice Bloom will be remembered for her warmth, laughter, and unwavering love. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
